Most ‘anonymous’ chat sites ask for your email, log every message, and build a profile on you. StrangerChat doesn’t. You pick a nickname, you start chatting, and when you close the tab, you’re gone.

How it works

2. Pick a nickname
Use your real name, a random word, or whatever you want. It’s visible only during this one chat.
3. Close the tab, vanish
When you leave, the conversation is gone. Nothing to delete because nothing was saved.
Why StrangerChat is different
Zero personal data collected
We don’t ask for your email, phone number, or social login. The only thing we know about you is what you typed in the chat.
Messages aren’t archived
Your chat lives in memory for the duration of the conversation and is discarded when you disconnect.
Disappearing photos (30s)
Photos auto-delete from the chat after 30 seconds — on both sides. Good for sharing a moment, bad for being screenshotted.
Moderated, not surveilled
You can report abuse. We act on reports. We don’t read your conversations preemptively.

Is this really anonymous?+
Yes. We don’t require any identifying information. We don’t link sessions across visits. The nickname you pick is visible only during that single chat.
Do you store my chat messages?+
No. Messages aren’t written to a permanent database. When your session ends, the conversation is gone.
Do you use cookies to track me?+
We use the minimum cookies required for the chat to work (session state, theme preference). We don’t use third-party advertising or analytics cookies that follow you across sites.
What if someone sends something illegal or abusive?+
Use the report button. Reported conversations are reviewed, and we ban users who break the rules. But we don’t read conversations that aren’t reported.
Can law enforcement get my chat logs?+
There are no chat logs to hand over. We don’t archive conversations. The only data that may exist is transient session information needed to run the service.
Is anonymous chat safe?+
Safer when the site is designed for it. StrangerChat is text-only, has an 18+ age gate, disappearing photos, and one-tap skip and report. Use common sense: don’t share personal details you wouldn’t share with a stranger on the street.
Do I need to download anything?+
No. It’s a website. Open it in your phone or desktop browser and you’re ready.
